A global search is where you use a single search field to search for just about anything in the system. For example, Google is a "global search" for the entire internet. You can perform a "global" search within the context of your Fielder data by clicking in the white area at the top of the screen, where the little magnifying glass is. (It is easy to miss - we plan to change the design to make it more noticeable).

The system will start searching as soon as you start typing. You can type anything you want to search for, across all of your Jobs, Customers, Estimates, Invoices, Inventory Items, Product Orders, and Tasks. However, the results you see will be limited to based on your access permissions. You can limit the scope of the search to single concept. For example, if you only want to search for customers, you can start your search with customer:
