How do I connect my Quickbooks Online, Sage, or Xero account with Fielder?
You can securely integrate Fielder with your QuickBooks Online, Sage, or Xero account by navigating to Settings and then Plugins.
From there you can click the appropriate plugin to set it up. Fielder will immediately contact the other accounting system to initiate an authorization workflow. The accounting system will briefly take over for a bit, and may ask for you username and password. It will ask for your permission to grant Fielder limited access to your account. Once you grant permission, the accounting system will return control back to Fielder. From there, you should see a configuration screen, where you are asked to specify some default accounts from your accounting system's Chart of Accounts. You can ask your accountant if you need help deciding on these, but it's not essential that you get it right. Fielder just has to specify these default "accounts" to use when/if it has to create an Inventory item record in your accounting system, for example. You can adjust that default account in your accounting system later if necessary.
Once you have specified the default accounts to use, Fielder will begin syncing data between itself and your accounting system. Fielder will create an item/product record in your accounting system for every inventory item in Fielder that has non-zero quantity on hand. Note that the accounting system will become the "source of truth" for inventory items' quantity-on-hand. The quantity on hand will not be directly editable in Fielder. Instead, if you want to adjust the quantity on hand for an item, you will make that adjustment in your accounting system. The accounting system should automatically update Fielder. You can edit certain fields in either system (besides quantity on hand), and those changes should propagate to the other system eventually.

Fielder will also sync up your customer/client records between itself and the accounting system. It will try to make sure that both systems have the same set of customer records, but there may be slight differences for some pieces of information. You can make changes to customer records in either system, and those changes should automatically flow to the other system eventually (if not immediately).
Fielder will also pull tax rate data from your accounting system. Like quantity on hand data, your accounting system becomes the source of truth for tax rate data. That is, tax rate information will not be editable in Fielder. You can make changes to tax rate data in your accounting system. The accounting system will send those changes to Fielder.
You can also trigger a manual sync of Inventory, Customer, and Tax Rate data at any time within Fielder.
Once you have the accounting system integration enabled, you can also send invoices that you create in Fielder over to your accounting system. However, the invoices have to be marked as "Approved" in Fielder first.
